Soap by Thea began as a way to make personalized Holiday gifts for my friends in 2004. The fateful statement "You should sell these!" got me thinking about starting my own business (scary thought, that) and the rest is a webpage and a brain full of ideas.
Recently I've become interested in organic botanicals and fairly traded additives as well. I think it's very important to keep pesticides out of your body and off your skin. Fair trade means that the people who grow and harvest some of my additives receive a living wage. Considering how many hours of labor go into a single pound of coffee, it's their right.
I also am fond of essential oils and use them in some of my soaps as well as my daily life.
Eventually, I plan to have a line of natural soaps with no synthetic ingredients. These will be closer to cold process soaps.
My glycerin soaps are handcrafted in small batches in the interest of freshness and quality control. The only animal product I use is natural raw honey and none of my products are animal tested. I've either tested the products on myself or on willing friends and family with no ill effects.
Some of my soap scents are very common and some are unusual but I love them all and hope you will too.
